Importance of health in the early years

As a parent or carer you will naturally want your child to be happy and healthy. Public health in Harrow actively promote health and wellbeing for children through a range of support and services for under fives and their families. Our ambition is to ensure that every child has a chance to have a long, healthy and happy life.

The early years are the most important years where good health and wellbeing practises start and continue into adulthood. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, poor oral health and disease related to smoking are preventable. By focussing on the most important years of a child’s life, we can have a positive impact on the longer term health and wellbeing from child to adulthood.

Within these pages you will find some useful articles and reference points for families, managing health and wellbeing throughout the early years.
