Funding for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
There is additional funding available for children aged 3 and 4 year olds accessing universal funding who have additional needs/emerging Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Disability Access Fund (DAF) - Across all areas of need for 3 or 4 year olds who receive disability living allowance (DLA). See further information here.
Specific Child Funding - Funding for the inclusion of individual children - 3 or 4 years old who are in receipt of universal funding with emerging SEND and additional needs.
EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) - Funding from the local authority via an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), formally known as a statement of special educational needs. Further information can be found on Local Offer EHCP page.

|What funding is available?||
Setting and schools will be awarded £350 per term to support a child with emerging SEND to access learning and the life of the nursery.
|How often can I claim?||
You must re-submit the HEY SEND register each term and include evidence of the child's progress.
|One off payment across the financial year.|
|When can I apply?||
For you to receive the Specific Child Inclusion funding, you must ensure that the HEY SEND register is sent by:
13th May - Summer 2019
13th September - Autumn 2019
17th January - Spring 2019

|Claims can be made for this single payment any time throughout the financial year, as soon as the child becomes eligible.|
|Who is eligible for the funding?||3 and 4 year olds accessing the 15 or 30 hours universal entitlement, within private, voluntary and independent settings (PVI's), childminders and school nurseries. The fund must be used by the setting to support this specific child to access learning/experiences.

|How do I apply for the fund?||
|When will I hear if the application is successful?||Once submitted and information is verified, the payment will be automatic.||Once submitted if the information is verified the payment will be automatic.|
|How is the funding sent to the provider?||If successful, funds will be paid in the second week of the half term.||Funds will be included in the final payment of the applicable term.|
