Are you thinking of becoming a registered childminder in Harrow?

The role of a registered childminder is both rewarding and challenging.  If you are passionate about making a difference, building strong foundations and shaping a childs early years in order for them to thrive, be confident and ultimately ready for school, then come along to our pre-registration meeting to find out more.  Our pre-registration meeting will equip you with information to make an informed decision as to whether this is the right career for you.

Home-based childcare course

Once you have attended the pre-registration and you have decided to pursue a career in childminding you must attend the following course 'Preparing to work in Home-based Childcare HBCA'.  This is a level 3 CACHE (Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education) qualification.  These are held termly and the next available course starts on 23 January 2019 at Stanmore College .  This is a 14 week course held for one evening a week.   The course will provide you with all the information and tools you need to become a childminder.

An initial verbal and written assessment will need to be completed at Stanmore College before you are accepted onto the course.

There is a cost attached to this course which is variable depending on final student numbers per course, however, once registered you can apply for a childcare business grant within 3 months of registration of £300 to support your new business (subject to meeting the criteria).
